Pack a Bag
Packing for a trip is always a fun thing to do, right? I don't care how early I start packing, I'm always up late the night before we leave still trying to make sure I've got a variety of choices. Packing items that take little to no care and can be pulled out of my suitcase ready to wear is first and foremost on my list. I have a husband that can be ready to go in 5 minutes! He is wonderfully patient, but I try not to test his patience while we are away. The quicker I can be ready the better!
This knit swing dress from J.Jill is just one of those pieces that was great to throw into my bag. It fit that criteria and was an easy dress to wear as we galavanted around visiting friends and family. This soft jersey knit dress was comfortable and with the fun floral pattern was an easy choice. I got this dress in a small petite size. It paired quite nicely with my sneakers, flats or a wedge heel. I decided on wedges, and to make it my own, I belted it. An A-Line dress can work for everyone, but it's all in how you style the dress. Since I have a small waist and hips, you might think it would make this dress a challenge, but once I belted this dress, it totally changed the silhouette. This dress also has slit pockets on the side seams! I really like pockets in a dress or skirt to carry my cell phone in.
We had a great time in California, with the lovely weather (a break from all the rain we have had in Georgia) and beautiful ocean views. The low humidity and ocean breezes were so nice as well. I will have to say though, they do have Atlanta beat as far as traffic and travel times goes. We learned very quickly not to get in a hurry and to make sure to check out travel routes and times on Waze.
The highlight for me on this trip was visiting with family that was long over due! And I made a few new friends as well.
