It's Just A Number
It's just a number, but it's held a lot of people hostage, sadly. I have to admit that I've never felt the sting of my age in comments from others, but I know many who have though!
It's just a number, and mine is 56 (until July!) I'm thankful and blessed to have been able to embrace every age I've been at. I have never been one to be identified with the number I was or am now. Yes, do I wish I'd done a few things differently? Absolutely! It doesn't however mean I want to go back and fix them either. I am who I am because of where I've been. I'm wiser, and I know who I am. It's a peaceful place to be at this "Midlife." My identity is not in my age, it's in who I am as a person. I believe we are here for a purpose, to help others---whether it's through a smile, kind words or encouraging each other. Life is a race where we need to be cheering each other on and forward.
It's just a number that has never held restraints on me. I do have to thank my parents for their encouragement from a very early age that I could do or be anything I wanted to. All I needed to do was work hard and strive to do the best I could. Give it a 110% effort! I also have the honor of having my parents still around (5 miles down the road to be exact) to watch them navigate life 20+ years ahead of me.
It's just a number because you're never too old to learn or start something new. I recreated what I did two years ago, when I started this blog. If you had told me everything that has happened because of that leap of faith back then, I wouldn't have believed it! But I can honestly tell you, if I can do it, anyone can.
How bold are you?
