My heavy coats are back in the lineup! The cold temperatures have finally arrived, which means my wool coats are front and center in my closet. Here in Georgia this warm fabric doesn't get used as much as it did when we lived up north, but I'm thankful for it nonetheless. The older I get, the harder it is to deal with the cold weather. I can now see why everyone heads further south to retire to escape the cruel cold. This coat is an oldie but goodie that I've had for quite a while from Gap. I'm especially loving this fur collar that I added, because it's so soft and warm up around my neck. It's not only warm, but it gives this coat a little more character. This coat came with a removable Peter Pan collar that buttons onto the coat. The collar is made out of the same wool fabric that matches the coat. With the collar off, the coat has a nehru collar that really makes it easy to wear scarves with. The nehru collar helps alleviate the extra bulk around your neck, if you choose to wear a heavier blanket scarf. In fact, the novelty of the button-on collar was so easy to wear multiple ways, that I also purchased the same coat in tan. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I found this fur collar and was thrilled to be able to use it with these coats. It definitely adds a totally different look to an already very versatile coat. If you're in the market for a nice wool coat with a little fur, I've listed several that would make a great Christmas gift.
And stay tuned tomorrow when I'll share with you the outfit I'm wearing underneath this warm coat!
