A Little Floral and Giraffe
As I’m sitting here trying to get this blog post out, I’m being asked a million questions by my granddaughter. It’s funny how fast you forget the stages children go through after your kids are all grown up. Frankie asks lots of questions and wants to know about everything. She’s like a sponge soaking everything up I say. It’s made me very aware of my words and what I say. And that isn’t a bad thing!
Today’s #ootd is a floral skirt and sleeveless blouse. What I did to amp this outfit up is what I added to it in the form of accessories. Accessories can elevate an outfit and make it dressier. They can also do the opposite and make a flashy dress more casual by simply adding for instance a pair of sneakers.
The accessories I chose are:
This fabulous bag from Hanner Clarke. This hand bag company was started by two sisters, both of them lawyers. Their love for hand bags had always left them lacking as they shopped. They would always be looking for the “perfect bag” to meet all their needs. So why not design their own bag? This hand bag has many great qualities, but here is what I like about it. The size of this bag is great for me, it fits everything I like to carry. The leather that they use to make these bags is so soft, it feels like velvet. The calf hair panel that they have added with the giraffe print gives this bag character. Who doesn’t love an animal print? The straps are braided and made to be comfortable on your shoulder. The way the straps are woven they both stay on your shoulder. We all have had that bag that has one pesky strap that never stays put - well no worries on these babies. They stay where they are supposed to, one of the many unique details that are put into the design of each bag. Hanner Clarke also makes this cute matching makeup bag that can do double duty as a small clutch. Add on this wristet for quick and effortless way to hang on to this bag without even holding on to it. It definitely makes grabbing and going with this little bag that simple.
I'm really wearing a lot of hats this season! No pun intended. It's really saved my hair and face from the sun. The damage the sun can do to your skin is not seen until we're well into our late 40's and 50's, and by then its too late to reverse the damage. Wearing sun screen on your skin is so important. They also have products out for your hair that have sun screen protection in them as well as protection from those hot tools we use to either curl or straighten our lovely locks. When I add a hat, it helps protect and give a little pizazz to this look.
Marc Fisher wedges do the trick every time. These are the easiest heels for me to wear during the summer when the temps make my feet tired and they even swell a smidge. This wedge makes trekking around way less stressful. And they look good with a skirt, shorts, pants and denim. They work hard for me during the summer and into the fall. Here in Georgia the weather stays warm and humid sometimes well into October, and this umber color suede wedge is good to carry into fall.
These light-as-a-feather earrings are just that...feathers that feel like there is nothing there. Lightweight is great! Don't you wish more clothes felt like that?
